House of Time

There is a counter in Nairobi.

Everything on this site was on it first.

Watches laid out across the velvet tray on the shop counter

Each watch and every pair of frames is photographed here, in the shop, in the light it actually has. Price tag still on, the counter behind it. Nothing is lifted from a supplier’s catalogue, because a catalogue render and the piece in the parcel are not always the same object, and you should not have to take that on faith.

Prices are in shillings and stock is counted honestly. When something is down to its last few, the page says so. When it is gone, it says that too, rather than quietly leaving you to find out in a message.

The last step stays the way it has always been. You find the piece, we bring it, and it goes on your wrist before any money moves.
